How To Black Friday and Survive?

Black Friday is a great opportunity for you to purchase all your Christmas list and Wish List items and save money whilst doing so, preplanning is not just a need but a SURVIVAL ESSENTIAL!

1. Plan Ahead

Pre plan by creating a shopping list so you know what to buy, thus preventing impulse buying that you may regret later. Your list should include, for example, Christmas gifts for family and friends, wish list of household goods, clothing, etc that you’ve had your eye on. This will save from wondering around the shops look for “stuff” that is well priced!

2. Set a budget

Decide on how much you want to spend on your #BlackFriday deals and stick to that amount!

3. Do your research

The internet is your friend building up to Black Friday! Know what is on sale, who is selling it, and during what period those items are on sale. Watch, follow and opt into mailing lists from your favourite retail stores that you plan shopping from on the day. The sooner you subscribe to newsletters and alerts, the more likely you are to get the items you want whilst stock lasts!!
Shopping online? Make sure that you are topped up with enough data and have decent internet connection, ready to shop online when the sales go live!!

4. Make a “Battle” Plan

Map out all the places you plan to visit in a particular order. Prioritise retailers with limited time offers, retailers closest to you and those that have the most important ‘must have’ items on your purchase list. Know what time each retailer opens and closes on Black Friday.

5. #RestForLess and Don’t “Sleep In”

Going to bed early the night before is a good idea. Most people are up and out of the house before dawn, meaning that you will need a rested and energised stance to take on Black Friday shopping. Most stores open much earlier than usual. Don’t think you can sleep until 11:00 and still be able to find those Black Friday bargains!

An early start will also ensure that you find the perfect parking spots, closest to the retailer, avoid the rush, hassle and aggravation over fighting over parking spots!! With proper preplanning and preparation, you can be sure to have a stress-free and enjoyable Black Friday shopping experience.

6. #Reload

A great idea is to carry a ‘survival kit’. Black Friday shopping can be exhausting, having a ‘survival kit’ will ensure that you have ample sustenance during the day! Top up your kit with your favourite snacks, sandwiches, water, etc. A survival kit, in a form of a back pack, is also a great way to protect your values such as phones and wallet whilst allowing you easy access to them at check out!

7. Safety First!

• Do not leave your shopping basket unattended. We’ve heard horror stories of customers fighting over shopping lifted from people’s baskets!
• Plan on a caretaker for the kids on the day! Your mind is on shopping bargains, bargains that other customers have in mind! You don’t want to lose track of your children whilst chasing down a prize item. At the end of the day, your kids are most valuable prize.
• Check, check and check again, that your car is locked. Car jamming is a reality, with your car packed with all the day’s shopping, spending the day at a cop house because of a stolen or broken into car is the last thing you need!!
